Nova 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, and 1967 Spherical bearing lower control arm kit Part# SP-4 sold as a pair
One of the biggest complaints we hear from 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, and 1967 Nova and Chevy II owners is front end wander. There are 4 things in the front end that must be done to stop the problem. The first is installing a SP-4 bearing kit in the lower control arm. The stock rubber bushing causes two problems: First the bushing tries to rotate the eccentric cam that sets the alignment when the suspension moves up and down. When the cam rotates the entire alignment is gone camber, caster and toe. The bearing kit removes the load causing the cam to shift. Second; many younger mechanic don't know about the step down washers that the factory installed in the bushings. The washers are on each end of the bushing. They are not included with the replacement parts, so if the mechanic is not aware of the washers they will be tossed out with the old parts. the washers go into the ends of the rubber bushing and step the bolt hole size down to 1/2 inch from 9/16. When the washers are not installed the lower arm will shift over bumps throwing the alignment out. This can happen rolling of the alignment rack. Again the Global west bearing kit will eliminate the problem.
This kit is used for street applications and just about anything else -- drag racers love it.
The other 3 items for fixing the alignment are Part # LOC-2 , srb-7, and you sending in your idler arm, center link with the frame bracket and Global West will custom build Del-a-lum bushings for the linkage. The pieces are sent back assembled ready to go.
If you want Global West can install the bearing kit SP-4 in the lower arms. The job does require welding , a good welding shop can handle it also.
Benefits and Features:
Bearing kit replaces the factory bushings.
Spherical aircraft bearings allow smooth movement without bind.
Bearings are Teflon lined so no grease fittings are needed.
Kit controls alignment providing improved response and vehicle control.
Maintains correct control arm length.
Note: welding is required with this kit.
