Firebird Drag Race Tubular Lower Control Arms Coilover Part #TLC-79H
Front Control Arms Firebird Drag Race Tubular Lower Control Arms Coilover Part #TLC-79H
Global West Suspension offers tubular control arms for 1967, 1968, 1969 Firebird drag racing applications.
The arms are powder coated black; they have low friction ball joints and are shipped pre-assembled. Installing coilover shocks is easy compared to the conventional coil spring. QA-1 and Afco shocks are most commonly used.
The Global West Advantage: TLC Drag Series
The product code name is -TLC Drag Series-
All drag series A-arms use a low friction bushing that allows the control arm to literally drop when they are installed. The beauty of design is that it not only reduced friction but it had zero deflection, no fore and aft movement. The cars high speed stability is greatly improved and stable as the car comes down from a wheelie. Both upper and lower control arms feature these bushings.
This particular lower arm kit will fit 1967, 1968, 1969 Camaro applications. The standard spring pocket is removed and the arm is slimmed down in order to install a shock plate. The shock plate will support several brands including QA-1, Afco, and a host of others. The factory sway bar attachment points have been removed for reducing control arm weight; plus, drag cars don’t run front sway bars anyway.
There are no modifications to the frame. The spring is conical and installs in the frame just like the factory unit. The spring rests on an adjusting collar those threads onto the shock. Ride height is adjusted by adjusting the collar up or down on the shock. The shock then bolts to the top of the control arm rather than bolting from underneath.
Global West offers a complete line of coilover shocks and springs and big block and small block applications.
