Global West Suspension manufactures a replacement upper control arm for 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 Camaro/Firebird V-8 models. The control arm kit is completely assembled so installation is easy.
The control arm features built-in additional caster and slightly more negative camber. The combination provides improvements for straight-line stability and corner entry. The ball joint angle has also been corrected.
- The arms are sold in pairs and are supplied with a upper ball joint and Del-a-lum bushings. Global West Suspension Del-a-lum bushings are superior over rubber or polyurethane because they respond like a bearing rather than a bushing.
- The arm can pivot straight up or down without bind and without deflection fore or aft. This provides faster suspension response and greater control over the alignment. The bushings also feature a grease fitting for lubrication -- no squeaks.
- The type of grease Global West recommends is a synthetic water resistant grease. Neo-z12 is excellent for Del-a-lum bushings and ball joints. You can also use Z-12 in hubs for wheel bearings because it is a racing high temp grease. Part # GR-1 (11-inch tube for most grease guns).
This control arm will not generate a harsh ride. In fact, you would not know it was on the car except for the performance gains.
