Global West Suspension sells tubular tie rod adjusting sleeves for the Impala, Biscayne, El Camino, and Malibu--model years 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, and 1964
Tubular tie rod adjusting sleeves are commonly used for performance applications. They provide a 360 degree, full-thread engagement around the inner and outer tie rod threads. They are locked in position with jam nuts. When tightened, the jam nuts stop the sleeve from rotating. Use an open-end wrench to turn the sleeve for adjustments.
Unlike the factory sleeves, no special tools are required to adjust them. Tubular sleeves won’t come loose when tightened correctly and stop any dirt or water from collecting in the thread, which can impair adjustments.
