1971-1976 Impala Tubular Lower Control Arms (for Coil Spring) #CTA-16L
Control Arms, Bushings, Shafts 1971-1976 Impala Tubular Lower Control Arms (for Coil Spring) #CTA-16L
Global West Suspension tubular lower arms for the 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, and 1976 Impala are perfect for stock or performance suspension applications. The arms are supplied with ball joints, bump stops, Del-a-lum control arm bushings, and an innovative rotating spring cushion.
These control arms from Global West also provide additional header tube clearance, which requires no frame modifications and are shipped fully assembled.
Three advantages when choosing a rotating spring pocket:
1. Many people cut the coil spring to obtain a desired ride height. When you cut the spring, the spring will no longer line up in the lower arm or upper frame mount. In some cases, this can cause the spring to make noise rubbing on the edge of the pocket. Global West designed spring cushions to solve the rubbing issue. Rotating the cushion provides a way to re-index the spring.
2. The spring will be indexed properly around the coil. You will notice that most tubular lower control arms have a flat plate that the spring sits on. There really is no index. This places a lot of load at the very end of the coil spring rather than on the full coil. Over time this will fatigue the coil spring and sagging may occur.
3. Ride height adjustments can be made by shimming under the spring pocket.
For coil spring applications only
The sway bar mounting plate adds support to the ball joint area.
Straps are used around the bushing housings, strengthening the housing to the tube.
Del-A-Lum bushings are a direct replacement for rubber or polyurethane control arm bushings. They are perfect for street or race applications. This unique design provides smooth performance without squeaks or bind. Designed to last over 100,000 miles. Whether on the street or on the track, Del-A-Lum bushings will give you optimum performance and control.
The arms are pre-assembled
Steering bump stops are standard
Standard ball joints are used so they can be serviced anywhere.
