1964, 1965, 1966 Mustang power steering cars only tubular tie rod adjusting sleeves part # ADJ-8
Global West tubular tie rod sleeves for 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, mustang and Falcon power steering applications use a larger thread diameter then the passenger side. The tie rod sleeve kit comes with both sleeves and jam nuts.
Tubular tie rod adjusting sleeves are commonly used for performance applications. They provide a 360 degree, full-thread engagement around the inner and outer tie rod threads. They are locked in position with jam nuts. When tightened, the jam nuts stop the sleeve from rotating. Use an open-end wrench to turn the sleeve for adjustments.
Unlike the factory sleeves, no special tools are required to adjust them. They won’t come loose when tightened correctly and they help prevent any dirt or water from collecting in the thread which can impair adjustments.
