Coilover Kit Big Block Adjustable Ride Height - Single Adjustable Valve Part #GWS-102-550c

Nova Chevy II Front Coilover Kit (Big/Small Block)
Coilover Kit Big Block Adjustable Ride Height - Single Adjustable Valve Part #GWS-102-550c
**Global West Suspensions does not recommend using any OEM lower control arm, not designed for coilover applications. We highly recommend using our control arms for coilover applications. Our lower control arms are designed and reinforced specifically to handle the load of a coilover.** Global West Suspension sells front coilover kits with single adjustable shocks from QA-1 for the 1967, 1968 and 1969 Camaro and Firebird. The kit includes two coilover shocks, linear springs, and thrust bearing kit, adjusters, hardware, and a spanner wrench. This kit is great for big block cars and no frame modifications are necessary. Global West Installation Tips: The thrust bearing kit installs between the spring and the adjuster, making adjustments to the vehicles ride height easier. The ride height can be adjusted from stock to 1-1/4 inches down without risking a bottoming condition. The coilover will allow lowering the car further, but you could run into bottoming. The spring would need to be a lot stiffer or you could install a extended travel lower control arm from Global West (part # CTA-79EXT). QA-1 shocks offer 18 adjustments that adjust bump and rebound at the same time. The springs supplied in the kit made by Global West (part # S-502) . The spring rate is 500 pounds per inch. We have chosen this rate because it is not too aggressive for the street, yet it provides far better handling over the stock spring rate of 325 foot pounds. This system, combined with a Global West front sway bar (part # SB-136), works fantastic without being harsh. Global West uses a linear rate spring rather than progressives because lowered cars will have reduced suspension travel. The spring needs to provide enough resistance to reduce bottoming and achieve provide handling. Recommendation: Installation does not require modifying the frame and can be used with a stock lower control arm; however, Global West recommends using a tubular lower control arm (part # CTA-79H). The arm is designed for the supporting the coilover shock design. Installation requires the shock to be bolted on top of the lower control arm rather than from underneath.
