Description
Lateral location of the rear end has always been a problem on the 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964 Impalas due to the angle of the panhard rod at ride height. Raising or lowering the ride height shifts the rear end laterally and if the panhard rod is not parallel to ground at final ride height, the car will be unstable around turns and over bumps depending on the final angle of the panhard rod. To fix this problem, Global West offers a bracket that installs on the frame surrounding the stock mounting location and converts it over to a multi-hole frame mount. The multi-hole bracket allows you to mount the panhard rod parallel to ground, or as close as possible, based on your ride height. This will correct a lot of the rear end instability problems. Welding is required for installation.
Global West offers a complete kit with bracket, and an adjustable panhard rod for centering the rear end. Look at part number PHC-84k.
All kits are powder-coated black and supplied with new hardware.
