Description
Global West manufactures tubular control arms that bring your 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, and 1964 Impala up to speed.
Getting current technology is a lot easier than you think, especially with suspension. We offer several components that are designed to help your suspension handle modern tire science. The first step is to give the car some stability. This is done through geometry and alignment.
The upper control arms have the following:
- More caster built in
- Improved camber curve for better handling and less tire wear
- Offset upper cross shafts
- Upper ball joints
- Bump stops
- Finish — powder coated black
- Pre-assembled
- New alignment specifications included
The Global West Advantage: What is caster?
Caster provides a lot of straight-line stability to a vehicle; to achieve our goal, caster was built into the upper control arms.
In addition to our design, we installed Del-a-lum bushings and added width to the bushing dimensions so we could increase the holding capability of the lower arm with the sticker tires.
Standard ball joints are used for easy replacement down the road and standard springs, air bags, coilover shocks, or hydraulics can be used with the arms. We offer special springs for the front as well as coilover kits.
Note: We have placed the bump stops on the control arm rather than relying on them to be on frame because most cars have lost them.
