Why do you need tubular sleeves:

Tubular sleeves are used for performance applications as well as direct replacement. Over time factory sleeves tend to loosen at the clamp, which causes looseness in the steering and changes the alignment toe setting. If the car is used in a racing application it is always a good idea to use a tubular sleeve for greater thread engagement.
