This is for an aggressive driver who drives hard on the street
and occasionally goes to an autocross event. This application lowers the ride
height and increases the ride stiffness. Steering response and corner
entry is dramatically improved. Rear suspension is addressed for high horsepower
applications.
Stage Three is an aggressive performance street package. It is
considered aggressive because of the different springs used and additional
chassis stiffening components. The tubular upper control arms are required and the tubular lower
arms are an option. Stage Three also requires a fast ratio steering box.
Stage Three provides benefits in the following areas:
- Provides straight-line stability and over all drive-ability.
- Dramatically changes corner entry response.
- Controls alignment.
- Improves tire wear.
- Capable of significant cornering speeds versus stock.
- Reduces nose-dive during braking.
- Improves rear axle control through leaf spring design and bushing system.
- Ride height is lowered 1-inch.
- Improves chassis stiffness.
Parts List with Part #:
- Part # CTA-79A--- tubular upper control arm kit fully loaded with
Del-a-lum upper control arm bushings and billet cross-shafts.
- Part # CTA-79L tubular lower control arm (option- CTA-79H - Coilover
application).
- Tubular Tie Rod adjusting sleeves Part # ADJ-2.
- Fast Ratio Steering Box.
- Front sway bar use part # SB-136 (1- inch diameter).
- S-2 front springs (S-2 fits small blocks and lowers the front end
approximately 1-inch) or S-3 spring is for a big block. (S-3 lowers the front end approximately 1-inch).
Note S-41 is for 67-9 Firebirds only and lowers the front end approximately
1-inch.
- QA-1 adjustable shocks Part # TC-1914P or Koni front shocks Part # 80-1914.
Both shocks are adjustable.
- Interloc subframe bushings Part # 800 (stock height) or Part # 801 (1/2 inch drop).
Note: If you plan on using subframe connectors as recommended. Use Kit 809
for stock height instead of kit 800 or use kit 819 instead of 801 for
the 1/2-inch drop applications.
- Subframe connectors Part # 900 (Camaro/Firebird non-convertible, Part #
900C for convertible).
- Del-a-lum rear leaf spring bushings and shackle kit part # 103SH.
- QA-1 or Koni adjustable rear shocks (specify mono or multi).
Rear Koni shocks Part # 80-1953 (stud type) or 80-1915 (1/2 inch bolt type).
QA-1 shocks Part # TC-1953P (mono leaf) Part # TC-1915P (multi leaf).
- Rear leaf spring Part # L-2.
- Option
( Part # 1038 conversion kit mono to multi leaf).
- No rear sway bar is required.
Rear leaf Part # L-2 is designed to control spring rap up. It can be used for road
racing, drag racing, and performance street driving. Traction bars are not required with
these springs. L-2 also lowers the car
approximately 1-1/4 inches.
Possible kit # 1038. (1038 is a hardware pack that converts mono leaf spring cars over
to multi leaf. If your car already has a multi leaf spring. You will not need a 1035 kit).
Recommended alignment settings for Stage Three:
Note: The amount of positive caster can only be achieved using CTA-79 tubular upper control arms. The stock upper arm will not generate
these numbers.
