1963-82 Corvette Rear Swing Arm and Adjustable Strut Rods.
Direct
replacement tubular rear swing arms are available from Global West. The
swing arms have provisions for the factory sway bar and parking brake
cable.
The
cable is raised slightly for streamlining the appearance and added ground
clearance. The bushing mount on the front is available with a spherical
bearing Part # TBC-9 or a polyurethane bushing Part # TBC-10. The bearing
style reduces twisting loads into the frame and also the spring rate is
maintained because there is no resistance to movement like a bushing
generates.
The picture to the left shows the spherical bearing and sleeves used in the swing arm. The bearing is the ultimate setup for performance. The downside on the street is you may have a little more road noise. Part # TBC-9 --- Cost $697.85 --- one kit per car
The photo to the left Part # TBC-10 --- shows the polyurethane bushing instead of the spherical bearing. The rest of the swing arm is the same. Polyurethane bushings will provide less road noise for street applications, however there is more resistance to swing arm movement.
Part # TBC-10 --- Cost $644.09 ----- one kit per car To the right is a tbc-9 installed on a 63 Corvette.
Part # TBC-7 adjustable strut rods are a direct replacement for the standard strut rods. The rods are pre-assembled and four special 3 hole plates are supplied taking the place of the factory eccentrics. The plates eliminate any possible slippage of the alignment. Camber is set by adjusting the center tube in or out. Spherical Teflon lined rod ends are used providing squeak free performance. The strut rods are powder coated black and the hardware is plated gold
zinc.
Part # TBC-7 -- Costs $256.99 --- one kit per car.
The photo on the right shows installation on a 1963 Corvette.
