Rear Multi Leaf Springs: We use multi-leaf springs over mono leaf springs because we have
more control over the rear end during acceleration Mono leafs tend to wheel tramp with high horse power cars
during hard acceleration.
Traction bars and other devices can be added which can eliminate the problem for
straight-line applications, however the down side is loss of ground clearance.
On a dedicated drag car this is not a problem, but on the street it can be. Our multi leaf spring
design controls rear wheel tramp through the multiple leaf configuration. The
combination of shocks, bushings, and rear leaf spring can do wanders for street
applications. In order to install multi-leaf springs on your car you will need
an additional kit Part # 1036 (picture on the right). A 1036 kit gives you
upper spring pads, aluminum spacers, bolts and related hardware. The kit also
features a centering dowel for leaf spring positioning.
Rear Bushings and Shackle Kit: (Del-a-lum Bushings) The Del-a-lum bushing kit is featured to the right. You will notice the plates and hardware are furnished for the conversion. Part # 104SH ---- Cost $213.92 -- one kit per car. Note : Del-a-lum bushings can be lubricated through grease fittings and carry a warranty. Return to Global West home page.
